Oswaldo Giacoia Jr. is a Full Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and in the Graduate Program in Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR). He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP), and a bachelor's degree in Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP). He earned his PhD in Philosophy from the Freie Universität Berlin. He completed postdoctoral research in Philosophy in Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin), Vienna (Universität Wien), and Lecce (Università del Salento). He is a researcher in the Research Productivity Program of CNPq. He served as president of the National Association of Graduate Studies in Philosophy (Anpof). He also coordinated the academic committee for the field of Philosophy within the government institutions National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), under the Ministry of Education. He is a member of the scientific board of the international journals Nietzsche-Studien (Walter de Gruyter) and Schopenhaueriana. Collana del Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca su Arthur Schopenhauer dell’Università del Salento. He is the author, among others, of the following books: Sala de espelhos.
